Hiroshi Ogino came from a Mechanical Engineering background. Given his passion for building and music, lutherie was quite the natural path to take. He apprenticed under Kenji Sugita for 8 years, before apprenticing under the legendary luthier, Ervin Somogyi, for another 2 years.

 

Hiroshi is well known for his intricately carved rosette which takes an immense amount of skill, concentration and time. He derives inspiration from Wabi-Sabi - a design philosophy which translates to “quiet simplicity”.
