This guitar boasts a number of uncommon design elements which are standard on all Dion Guitars:
The Back is made from four layers of wood in alternating grain orientation with a core of nomex, this design creates a very evenly stiff, very active back contributing greatly to the tone and projection of the guitar
The Sides are constructed from three layers of wood, the centre being kerfed to lighten and make bendable. These sides create a very stiff, very stable rim, taking some of the load off of the top, lightening the soundboard, creating more potential for sound production.
Overall, Dion has achieved an extremely robust sound that is extremely loud and dynamic. It is suited well for playing the role of a banjo killer in a band setting, or if you are a soft finger picker who wants a loud guitar despite your gentle touch.
